Watercolor Field Journaling; Documenting Space Through Plein Air Painting

with Rachael Eastman

Saturday, Oct. 18

2-5pm

$45/person

Join us at Moscow Contemporary in collaboration with Raven Hammer Studio for a dynamic plein air watercolor class that blends artistic exploration with spatial storytelling. In this immersive experience, participants will travel to a couple of different local outdoor environments to observe, interpret, and visually document the spaces we inhabit.

Class Highlights:

  • Visual Storytelling in the Field: Learn to translate the essence of a place into watercolor—capturing not just what you see, but how space feels. You'll explore composition, perspective, and atmosphere to create compelling visual narratives.

  • Create Your Own Watercolor Field Journal: Each participant will craft a personalized watercolor book, gradually filling its pages with pieces that reflect the diversity of environments encountered. Your journal becomes a curated archive of spatial impressions.

This class is perfect for those curious minds who want to explore the intersection of art and environment. By the end, you'll have a rich visual record of your journey.

*All materials will be provided with the option of purchasing a travel handmade watercolor set from Raven Hammer Studio.
