Wild Playground: Exploring and Imagining

April 18 & 25

Two Saturdays 10am - 1pm

$95.00

w/ Judy Sobeloff

We’ll use visual journals as a place where we get to hang out with our imaginations, play and

create, and find new meanings and insights. We’ll make our own journal, construct a secret

hideout, and meet imaginary friendly creatures. We’ll use guided visualizations; visual art

processes such as mark making with found objects, painting, drawing, collage; and freewriting;

connecting with our inner wisdom and reflecting on what we create with compassion and

curiosity. Incorporating elements of expressive arts, Soul Pages, and Open Studio Process, this

workshop is intended to be fun and fulfilling for people ages 18 and up of all experience levels.

There’s no need to have any special abilities or art experience to benefit from the power of

creative expression or from this workshop.

All materials will be provided.

A longtime teaching artist for the Idaho Commission on the Arts and Idaho Parents Unlimited, Judy Sobeloff is a faculty member and mentor for the Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute and a certified facilitator in the Soul Pages method of visual journaling. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington and is an enthusiastic graduate of both the yearlong Teaching Artists Training Lab and the NWCEAI professional certificate program in expressive arts. She has led expressive arts and creative writing workshops and activities in community centers, libraries, schools, colleges, correctional facilities, sidewalks, and arts festivals, including school-based visual journaling workshops for kids and community visual journaling workshops for adults.
