Art and creativity have long been powerful tools for making important societal statements, especially in times of government overreach. Along with traditional protest, creative expression engages emotion and imagination, inspiring reflection and action while uniting people around shared values of freedom and human rights. Art channels energies through positive expression about one’s community and country. It brings people together in nonviolent ways that work in opposition to forces that wish to silence and coerce.
